1.1 Limitation of Liability

For up-to-date terms and conditions that may apply in parallel with the text below, please visit haply.co/legal.

Haply Robotics Inc. will not be responsible for any incidental, consequential, indirect, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, or damages for loss of profits or revenues, business information, or other pecuniary loss arising under or in connection with Haply Robotics Inc. or any of its products or services.

In no event should the liability and/or obligations of Haply Robotics Inc. arising out of the purchase, lease, license, and/or use of the equipment by you or others exceed the purchase price of the HARP product license itself.

The HARP software and documentation are provided as tools to assist with robot control and integration and are not a safety system. No guarantee is made that HARP will detect or prevent unsafe configurations or collisions.

1.2 Warranty

For up-to-date warranty information, please visit haply.co/legal.

Haply Robotics Inc. warrants for 12 months from the date of purchase, unless another agreement has been made at sale or rental, that the HARP product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship during the applicable warranty period, when used under the normal conditions described in the documentation provided to you, including this respective user manual.

If you experience any issues with the HARP product, please contact our support team immediately to determine the appropriate action.

The warranty period and terms can only be amended based on local laws or regulations that apply to consumer protection in the country or region of purchase. Our warranty does not degrade the protections of a consumer in their purchasing region, but acts concurrently. Due to the complexities of regional consumer protections, any additional consumer protection should be cited where it is used outside of our standard warranty terms.

All accessories of HARP are not covered by this warranty and have their own express warranty available at the request of the customer.

1.3 General Precautions

DANGER
  • This product is not intended to be used as a surgical control system.
  • This product is not intended for use in explosion-proof environments. Do not use this product in a hazardous location or potentially explosive atmosphere.
CAUTION
  • Be sure to monitor the functions and performance of the system at startup and during use.
  • Only trained and competent personnel should install, configure, or operate systems using HARP.
  • System integrators should take care when implementing new device interactions to ensure the testing and safety of the end user is considered.
NOTICE
  • Do not attempt to modify or operate the system in any way other than described in this manual. If HARP, any of the software, or accessories are modified or used other than intended, the warranty will be voided.

1.5 Usage Guidelines and Safety Precautions

WARNING
  • Ensure to perform regular maintenance on any components that are a part of the system.
  • HARP does not provide safety-rated functions (e.g. safety-rated speed, safety-rated monitored stop). All safety-related functions must be implemented using appropriate safety hardware and certified control systems.
  • Do not use HARP to operate robots in collaborative contact with people unless a full risk assessment and appropriate certified safeguards are implemented.
CAUTION
  • Ensure all components of the system are securely mounted and installed to the specification in each respective user manual before operating the system.
NOTICE
  • We recommend performing a quantitative risk assessment (QRA) for the creation of any system that uses HARP to determine how you can integrate safety systems alongside the robotic control. Safety is important, and we recommend that you consult an external risk assessment engineering firm if you do not have the resources that can perform this assessment.

1.6 Emergency Precautions

In the case of an emergency, turn off the system power immediately or press an Emergency Stop button if your system has one. Power down the system when it is possible.

Please contact Haply customer support in the following cases:

  • The robot is not moving as expected (wrong direction, wrong speed, wrong joints).
  • The robot is moving without input.
  • The robot is moving sporadically or in a non-smooth fashion.
  • You cannot recover the system after a crash using HARP or the robot manufacturer’s built in utilities.
NOTE

Location, quantity, and type of Emergency Stop devices and safety circuits are determined by the system integrator’s risk assessment and must comply with local regulations and standards.

1.7 Software Product License Agreement

HARP Software License terms will be clear in the purchasing contract.

For other softwares distributed by Haply Robotics see the latest version of our End-User License Agreement, please visit haply.co/legal.

1.8 Update Service of the Software

The latest software versions for interacting with Haply Robotics products as input devices and our accessories are available in our developer hub (develop). If you have any questions about the previous versions or updates, please contact our help desk from our website haply.co.

1.9 Robot System Safety Disclaimer

HARP must be operated only under direct supervision and during active, intentional use. The system is not designed for unattended, unsupervised, or autonomous operation. Users are fully responsible for monitoring the robot and software at all times.

To ensure safe and continuous operation, the host PC or laptop running the HARP software must remain active. Computer settings like sleep, hibernate, user log-out or any power-saving mode that is triggered after an amount of time should be disabled. HARP does prevent a computer from entering sleep but your IT department may have settings that override this. Any such interruption may immediately halt communication with the robot and may result in unexpected behavior.

If the laptop lid is closed, or if the operating system enters a suspended state for any reason, the connection to the robot will automatically terminate. Users must ensure that the computer’s power and sleep settings are configured to remain fully awake for the entire duration of use.

Improper use, inattentive operation, or failure to follow these guidelines may result in damage to equipment, property, or surroundings. The HARP system and its developers are not responsible or liable for any damage, loss, or injury resulting from misuse, negligence, inadequate supervision, or unsafe operating conditions.

Always close and exit the HARP software when the system is not actively in use.

NOTE

HARP should not be used to run unsupervised automated programs in environments where people may freely enter the robot workspace.

1.10 User Responsibility and Reference to Official Manuals

While HARP provides a structured interface for loading and applying robot configurations, it does not replace the robot manufacturer’s safety, tuning, or calibration manuals. Users must consult the official documentation for:

  • Mechanical installation
  • Electrical safety
  • Tuning/calibration procedures
  • Motion and safety limits
  • Emergency stop behavior
  • Recommended operating practices

Incorrect or incomplete configuration may result in unsafe robot behavior. HARP and its developers are not responsible for any damage, malfunction, or injury resulting from improperly defined robot parameters or deviations from the manufacturer’s guidelines.

NOTE

Configuration examples in this manual are non-binding and do not supersede the robot manufacturer’s recommendations, limits, or safety instructions.
