2. Symbols, Precautions & Definitions

Thank you for choosing the Haply Advanced Robotics Platform (HARP).

Please read this manual carefully before use. After reading, store it in a safe place where it can be easily referenced in the future.

2.1 Symbols​

In this manual, the following symbols alert you to important safety and usage messages. Be sure to read these carefully:

DANGER

Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in serious injury or death.

WARNING

Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in serious injury or death.

CAUTION

Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury.

NOTICE

Indicates a situation which, if not avoided, could result in product or property damage.

2.2 Precautions​

  1. Unauthorized reproduction of this manual, in whole or in part, is prohibited.
  2. The contents of this manual may be changed or improved without prior notice.
  3. Extensive effort has been made to ensure that the contents of this manual are as complete and accurate as possible. If you discover any errors or have questions, please contact Haply customer support.
  4. Regardless of item 3, Haply Robotics will not be liable for any effects resulting from the use of this product.
  5. Where this manual conflicts with safety requirements in the robot manufacturer’s documentation or local regulations, those documents take precedence.

2.3 Definitions​

  • HARP: Human Advanced Robotics Platform
  • Leader: An input device that provides data that can be translated to control follower devices.
  • Follower: A device that is given commands and actions based on the leader or playback functionality.
  • Recording: A collection of all follower devices and their data during a recording session. Saved as a `*.hrpr` file type.
  • Playback: The replay of all the follower devices' data that was collected during a recording. Playback comes from a *.hrpr file.
  • End Effector: The device attached to the end of a robot arm that interacts with the environment—such as a gripper, tool, or sensor.
  • Robot Flange: The standardized mounting interface at the end of a robot arm where the end effector is attached. It provides mechanical and electrical connections.
  • Tele-Operation: A control method where a human operator remotely controls a robot in real time, often used in hazardous or inaccessible environments.
  • Clutch: A mechanism or software function that allows disengaging the operator’s input from the robot, temporarily pausing or releasing control without shutting down the system.
  • Macro: A pre-programmed sequence of robot commands or motions that can be executed automatically
